Limited Permit Mental Health Counselors

Catarina Burke is a Mental Health Counselor with a Limited Permit who is passionate about creating a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. She believes that beginning therapy can be a vulnerable experience and strives to make the therapeutic process feel comfortable, collaborative, and individualized to each person.

Catarina takes a person-centered approach to counseling and integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques into her work. She believes that therapy should be tailored to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Her goal is to work collaboratively with clients to better understand their experiences, identify strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and build upon the changes they want to make in their lives. She has a particular interest in working with adolescents and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and challenges related to school, work, relationships, or major changes in their lives. Catarina is especially passionate about supporting young adults and individuals navigating periods of uncertainty as they work to better understand themselves and find a sense of direction.

Catarina views the therapeutic relationship as an important part of the counseling process. She strives to meet each client where they are, listen without judgment, and create a space where clients can feel safe being their authentic selves. She believes that seeking support is a sign of strength and that even small steps can lead to meaningful and lasting change. Outside of counseling, Catarina enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, staying active, and exploring new places. She brings her genuine warmth, curiosity, and love of helping others into both her personal and professional life.
